Meta has released details about their new Twitter competitor app, slated to launch some time next month. The app, which is currently unnamed, will offer unique features designed to take on Twitter in the social media space.

Meta has a successful track record in developing mobile communications and social media solutions, with apps such as Kitkat, Asuki, and Tweetica currently topping the App Store charts. This has given the team the confidence to take on Twitter directly.

The key thrust of the new app is its unique approach to conversations. Meta CEO, John Roberts, says the company has taken inspiration from popular video call apps, as well as apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, and applied them to the microblogging platform.
